Membership Database Email Verification

Writer: Kim Clark, AE, GADKim Clark, AE, GAD

If you receive an email verification you're unsure of, don't click any links, enter any information, or reply. Instead, verify the email's authenticity, check your accounts, and if needed, report it as phishing.

This one from NAR's membership database (M!) is legitimate!

The Email Verification feature is set off automatically when a POE adds a new Realtor/Realtor Associate or when the required business email for existing REALTOR® members is changed, often by a member association.

What the verification email will look like.
What the verification email will look like.

This allows the member to verify the email address is correct and active, and displays a flag to the local point of entry that an email address has been verified.

The sender of the email will be no_reply@membership.realtor.

The email will contain the name and contact of their association.

The member would simply click on the Verify Email Address link. Please note that even if the member does not do this, it will not affect their member record in M1. The record remains as is with the data entered in the Business Email field as is.

The verified green check mark will also appear there.

If a member has not verified their business email and contacts their POE because they did not receive the verification email, or they did but perhaps deleted it and would like to verify their email, by the Business Email field you will see a Send Email Verification button. If you click that button, the system will send the verification email to that member again.
