The 57th Legislature, First Session is Adjourned Dine Die.

After two full months of intense debates, negotiations, and last-minute legislative maneuvers, the First Session of the 57th Legislature adjourned sine die today (3/22) at noon. This session:

• 1,182 bills were introduced

• 148 memorials, resolutions, and joint resolutions were introduced

• 194 bills passed both the House and Senate and were sent to the Governor for action

• 52 memorials, resolutions, and joint resolutions were approved by the Legislature

Throughout the session, the NMAR Legislative Committee remained fully engaged, tracking and advocating for policies that directly impact real estate professionals and property owners. This year, NM REALTORS® tracked a record breaking 94 pieces of legislation, including:

• 90 bills related to property rights, housing affordability, and real estate policies

• 1 memorial addressing industry concerns

• 3 joint resolutions with potential long-term effects on real estate

With the session now concluded, attention turns to the Governor’s desk, where bills await final decisions. We will continue to provide updates on legislative outcomes and what they mean for the industry in our Session Recap and final report. Stay Tuned!

Thank you to all who stayed engaged, responded to Calls for Action, and helped ensure that REALTORS® had a strong voice in the legislative process.
